Jott

I have been using JOTT for a few weeks now. Mostly because I really like to do geek things :), but also with the new hands-free laws I typically have my bluetooth on, or near by. So what exactly is Jott.

What is Jott

Their website describes them as "Jott Networks operates a voice to text service that makes staying organized and in touch easy. Jott allows consumers to easily and safely send emails and text messages, set reminders, organize lists, and post to web services with their voice. Since its introduction in late 2006, Jott has made world class voice transcription accessible to anyone with a cell phone."

So here's what I do.

I hit the button on my bluetooth and my phone says... "say a command"

I say call Jott (that's what I have it listed as on my phone)...

my phone says, "did you say call Jott", to which I say YES.

Then Jott answers and says, who would you like to Jott, most of the time I say Myself, to which the Jott will sent the info I speak... in text form... to my email account (and it sends the sound file as well).

So perhaps I want to remember to some important detail that I need to add to an email I am going to write... well I just tell it to Jott, and it will be in my email for me to cut and paste later... not bad hua.

One Step Further

Jott links in with a number of other Web 2.0 websites including two that I have been using a lot lately. The first is Remember the Milk a great little TO DO list that has some great features and also links in with a number of other services. The second is the super time waster Twitter which as I learned tonight (set it up a few minutes ago) I can call Jott, tell Jott to jott Twitter, and there it shows up on twitter... cool.
